Proof that Amazon's "free" shipping is a lie!

Amazon doesn't actually give you free shipping, they factor it into the price. In the example above, the Spigen iPhone 6 case is $9.99 plus $3.00 shipping if you buy it directly from the company. (9.99+3.00=12.99) You can also have the case shipped from Amazon and get "free" shipping, but be charged the same $12.99 for the privilege. So the shipping really isn't free. This is just one example, Amazon often charges more for items shipped from them than you'd normally pay if you bought from a 3rd-party. When you consider you need a minimum of $35 for the free shipping, plus Amazon charges you tax even in states that they do not have a physical presence, you end up paying WAY more than the $12.99 that you'd pay by buying the case directly from Spigen.
The law says that you only have to charge tax in states in which you have a physical presence, and there are absolutely no Amazon warehouses in my state, yet they still charge me tax. That, on top of the fact they charge more for items so they can offer so-called "free" shipping, makes them seem very shady indeed.
