The Daily Show

I attended a taping of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart today.
It was the first show of 2008.  And also the first show since the strike.
The writers from the writers strike were outside the studio handing out leaflets and walking around with their picket signs.
The signs all basically said the same thing, considering they were writers you'd think they could have come up with more clever signs.

Jon Stewart expressed his heartfelt thoughts about the writers strike before the show started, so it will probably not air.  Apparently he talked Comedy Central into making an agreement with the writers, but the writers rejected the agreement.  So they went ahead and made a new episode of The Daily Show anyway, without the aid of writers.  Jon did a good job even though he had no writers to write his material.

The episode will air tonight at 11pm, then again at 1am and 8am, on Comedy Central.
