Why does Microsoft make things complicated?

Windows Vista comes with FIVE VERSIONS for you to choose from (wow).

Vista Home Basic (ugly cream colored box)
Vista Home Premium (green box)
Vista Business (blue box)
Vista Ultimate (black box)
Vista Enterprise (I've never seen it sold in stores)

Vista Enterprise isn't for the general public, making the choices down to four, but that's still a lot!

XP only had two [main] versions, and Media Center Edition (MCE) which was just a re-package of Professional. Making a total of three versions.
The two main versions of XP were: XP Home and XP Professional.
